Scientific/Latin species names are capitalized, not common names, as in this quotation from Wikipedia:

"The great tit (Parus major) is a passerine bird in the tit family Paridae."
unless it contains a proper noun, such as, Siberian tiger

Amazing photos and a great idea to set up a reflection pool. Did you use fixed lighting or a flash for these?
I'm not sure about the wasp ID though. They look more like German Wasps from the facial markings.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Amazing photos @Alan Clark2 in Liverpool
  • wild edges, Yes, they do seem to be German Wasps, not Common Wasps. My mistake.

The lighting was two flash units.
