That's a stunning pic @Alan Clark2 in Liverpool. The detail on their wings is so clear  :)
Lovely exotic 'beasts' @Nollie.  Great  photos.  :)

Bit unkind @Big Blue Sky  :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks @Fairygirl, there are certainly some colourful beauties here, most of them on the agastache at the moment, counted at least 11 species of butterfly, moth and bee on it just now...

Sorry for rubbish photo but I think this is a Broad Bordered Bee Hawk Moth:

And the ever lovely Scarce Swallowtail:

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

    A hoverfly on a Daylily.
That's a stunning picture. The colour range is just perfect. B)
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

This morning my purple coneflowers 'White Prairie' were visited by a lone red admiral / Vanessa atalanta,

  • Finally found something different - it was a striking yellow/orange when flying around which is why it caught my eye. No idea what it is.

It's a Jersey tiger. Like you say the underwing has a really bold orange pattern.

  • One of my favourite moths @BloodyNora.  I hadn't seen any this year until we saw two this week on vegetation and have trapped over a dozen in the box too - all released without any danger to the moths.  They really like posing on house walls and windows here - often for at least 6 or so hours at one time.

  • One of many Painted Ladies in my garden recently. This one turned its nose up at the Buddleia and decided to breakfast on Stokesia.

  • Any ideas who this fella is?
