Sorry - been slightly AWOL from this thread recently .... then the pooter was playing up (updating, which made it worse ) so I abandoned it for a while. I think I may need to get 'a man' to look at it
Thanks for all the messages - I will respond as soon as I can
No idea what anyone is up to, and no chance of catching up - although it sounds like you're recovering just in time to look after OH, Dove
Hope OH is improving now Joyce x
Another ugly looking day here - huge bank of black clouds approaching. I'm hoping the wind coming from the SW will keep them away long enough to get the washing dry. It'll only need an hour or so! The winds last weekend caused a little damage - a few buddliea branches but nothing unusual, and everything else is always well secured. Managed to get a walk slotted in yesterday thank goodness. Hasn't been easy recently with the weather, but I went up to Pitlochry late afternoon and got away without a soaking. Always a good result! Back very late so just sorting some pix now.
Off for a quick look round now
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I met a couple of women at the top of the hill yesterday who had been a good bit ahead of me. I'd stopped to talk to another chap and another couple for a while too, but I arrived at the summit just behind these girls. One of them said - 'you must have flown up'...
If they only knew my real name.....
First time I've had a view from that hill, but it was tricky keeping the camera steady in the wind. Good job there's a trig and a viewpoint marker to lean against! The sky was great though

Hello everyone. Good to see FG again. Agree about cities LP. Hope OH is OK Dove.
Been busy with rellies. Cool wet weather mostly but that's OK. Birthday lunch on Friday was good. It peed down thru most of it then stopped to allow us a stroll afterwards. No views of La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré though. Just smudges. Yesterday OH walked our legs off round Les Sables d'Olonne and my supposedly mended broken toe is now swollen and tender again so is strapped to the big toe to stop it wobbling.
Senior SIL came back energised yesterday so she and I went out to weed the new kidney shaped bed at the front and have a good natter and again this morning. They've gone off to do the steam train thing now but I'm home alone ('cept dogs and kittens) as I have brassicas and toms that desperately need planting.
I have to abandon them all tomorrow to do an 8 hour solo drive to Belgium for a funeral on Tuesday and that means leaving OH in charge of watering. I'll leave a sprinkler and a timer for the toms and that just leaves him with clems and rose and other shrubs still in pots. At least it's set to stay cool till I get back on Friday. He's also in charge of catering tomorrow so they've decided they'll go out for the day, have a proper lunch out and then beans on toast for supper!
I hope you all have the weather and energy needed for your various projects. Hugs to all feeling low or crook or needing comfort.

Not sure whether I mentioned the issue OH had with a work colleague, regarding a conference they are at next week.
Anyway she has been a bit hacked off about it and I can't go with her, as I have various appointments next week.
So, I phone him this morning [ with OH's permission ], " hello its Moira's OH here, can I speak to your wife please.
Why do you want to do that ?
I want to tell her about you propositioning my wife."
I don't think he will be doing that again.

What did he say to her? Cheeky s*d. Perhaps his wife will be going with him now
Take care of that toe Obelixx. At least the long drive will give it a rest...
