On an unrelated note, and TMI probably, but me and Dillon were in the shower and our kitten jumped in the tub and played in the around and we picked him up and had a kitty shower! He’s the only cat or animal we’ve had that has ever jumped in the shower and liked water.
My birthday was last Friday, took the sky pic and everything went great, the rest were at the nursery, but the last was at our house. Dillon made a nice hanging ornament out of pine cones, cotton, twisted vine branches, native holly, and foliage from some of the larger vines as well, it’s very beautiful. on the real though, it didnt seem that warm but in the the sun moving firewood I could have worked in a tank top it has been in the 70’s here but in the sun and greenhouse it’s more like 80*farenheit and up, but a cold spell is on its way >.< all I know of these (cause I forgot their names on the label lol) are the bird of paradise with the orange and purple and the white and yellow camellia.
Green Dragon pt. 11: Eastern panthea moth, and a wet daffodil on a cold day. Along with the brachts that grow on the branches(the name of the tree evades me now but I’ll figure it out and post later). the water drops on the next are the Tulip tree or Yellow poplar. What we call a Christmas cactus or in the “Schlumbergera genus”. Our paper white daffodils almost finished and will be planted out in spring, along with the amaryllis and other paper whites I’ve planted in the white rectangle pot.
Stuff at work: (Eastern?) Sweetgum tree also called alligator wood with brachts on branches, seem to mostly affect the smaller branches, people around here usually define it as an oak or a type of maple, it’s a very beautiful tree but grows quickly and can cause serious damage if left unkept, especially near a house. The next I’m sure is Purple Deadnettle, a supposed weed but would be beautiful in any garden. Lantana flowers (Even in December) but the colors can vary from yellow to orangish to pinks. Dandelion of course and a common field Cricket I’m sure? Lol I’m sorry I always sound so unsure haha
Up, up, and down the road...things I know - the red berries of a wild rose bush, a lot down here grow even on the banks of and even in water. The seed pod of a of purple bell clematis. The next I think is a rose bramble with big pods, what kind i do not know, but this is one ive been looking for for years because of the seed pods themselves, I’ve never seen the flower I think. The next red is of pineapple sage(which smells exactly how it sounds). Of course the black roses are still doing great(deep red lol) the pink of our azalea(we have 3 azaleas[the one in the picture {remembrance?} and the other two are swamp/pinxterbloom azaleas] I know about and 1 rhododendron). Our coral sea begonia leaves in the sun that actually look like they have glitter on them in the soft sun light. And the kitty in the empty dog‘s Water bowl in the morning when I woke up haha. It’s empty cause one of our dogs is a bit nocturnal and has all of her fun at night when we’re asleep lol I filled it up before I left
Getting cold...but there’s an amaryllis in flower and close ups. Taking some suckers off of our autumn joy sedums. A witch hazel in the woods behind our home, I dug it up and transplanted it to our backyard, I love this tree, can’t find it in anywhere, only in the woods around here (this particular kind atleast). But I dug one up once before but I did a terrible job, but through that experiebce I hope to trial another and this time prove sucessful lol the rest are pictures of Brookgreen gardens with Dillon, I didn’t take too many cause it was cold... and the last is a fountain in the town a couple miles north of us already frozen but it’s still beautiful outside!
A few weeks ago I finished Monty’s “The Complete Gardener”, and today i finished reading “The Jewel Garden”. i still have the book “Gardening at Longmeadow“ and that’s the last of 3rd I ordered around thanksgiving. All have been big inspirations even just skimming when I do at work lol. A lot of it made me want to cry, idk why, i would personally like to thank Monty&Sarah and the whole bbc and all gardening schemeists everywhere. Where I’m at...there always feels like a battle is coming, war around the corner, gardening and plants is one of the last things really connecting me to the world, and my real self. It’s easy to become a machine, but I think it’s harder to remember where you came from, i’d Just like to say thank you to everyone. And from me: May God Bless Our World. Together we can do anything. (I’m not always nice btw lol)
