Pawleys island is kinda like a retirement town/cityish place. My older brother said it's a place you raise your kids to leave then come back at the end to retire lol But ive lived here for about 24 years. And we live down the road from a waterway connection to the waccamaw river, and are backyard is mainly woods with huge pines.
The woods behind our house, I can't seem to get a good picture to show all the huge pines, oaks, and cypress, but it's a nice habitat for all sorts of animals, even the redheaded woodpecker. Also our big fig tree that fruits. And that beautiful man is my hubby Dillon! ^-^ the sunflower is about 9 foot, and those red flowers are the begonias in full.
Someone had cut a pear tree down our road and the used the branches for post to string up like a small fence and they had been there a while, and somehow started new shoots which is wonderful and very educating. The orangish flower is a marigold, our left corner with the beehive which helps pollination, and there are two vines that grow together in a pot that I took from down the road, I do not know these flowers names tho...Also our yard goes from hot and dry to shady and wet so I'm able to experiment with a lot of plants. Also a peace lily, crape myrtle, mulberry, tulip tree and elephant ears.
Two yuccas, the taller one my brother bought me for inside and I was able to put it outside and the bigger one I pulled from down the road and put it in our front yard, but I read that they were adaptable so I moved it and it didn't die and when it flowered it had two flower stalks on each side and looked like two white swords ). That is the last of our gladiolas. Were also growing red or brown foliated cotton, and I'm running it ornamentally along the cherrywood fence so it's a nice red on red, then will have white pops of cotton.
sorry about my grammar when it's terrible, but to reiterate, someone cut down there flowering pear tree, and put the cuttings down the road. They looked good to use for post staking so I took some about 16 branches and cut them to put in the ground. Now those branches had been there for about a month or so before I grabbed them. And just recently a few weeks ago we started noticing growth. Andof it keeps going I'll let it stay

If it doesn't rain gotta water everyday for atleast an hour
The night blooming cereus will flower multiple times once established, that or it could be the full moon lol

Beautiful.
Does it only flower at night? If so, what happens during the day?
Only at night so far, I'd like to one day have a black flower garden for the day and white blooming flowers at night.
