Scroggin, I still have some into their fourth year so it's worth hanging on to them.

I'll 'fess up BL - those cornflowers are from last year! The foliage didn't die off and the clump was in a dry bed against the wall, and surrounded by other foliage over winter - the driest winter I can remember.

They never went completely, and the emerging Iris and tulip foliage protected them through all the snow and frosts, the smaller number of slugs didn't annihilate them and they started flowering a month ago.  image

The Q of N tulips were ones I picked up earlier in the year. I was surprised I got a few flowers, but again, the weather helped with that.

I'm only just removing crocus foliage and there's still lots of snowdrop foliage dying back, and my sweet peas are still only a few inches tall - as per the norm for the time of year!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Here are my May flowers, better late than never! There are Sweet Williams that hardly show and several violas behind the Etoile Violette clematis which is hiding them. This time of year everything seems to be blue, pink and purple.

Lovely posies and all at least a week in front of mine. Off to see now what I can scavenge out of the garden.
