The small pink pom pom is wizard of oz, the bigger pink one is harmony melody with very dark foliage and the spikey white one is white star....my first attempt with dahlia's this year ?

Been to a Christmas Floristry Workshop today and we did a wreath and a jam jar posy!

  • That's pretty, Auntie Rach.

This is the jam jar of flowers I had to prune off the rambling rose which grows up our holiday cottage in Scotland, last week.

They are sweet Lirio - do they have a fragrance?

One of my fave parts about the workshop today was the smell of fir and other greenery wafting about! There is a cinnamon stick in the posy somewhere as well.

There is a 'freshness' to that arrangement AuntyR.

Liri, is that a painting of Lismore?

My ground cover pink rose is still full of flowers.

  • Yes, Joyce - it's a painting of the cottage, in the cottage.  It was there when we first went there on holiday, 30 years ago.  image

Auntie Rach, they have almost no fragrance, sadly.  Just that "apple-like" scent when you stick your nose right in.

The cottage is in a beautiful setting Liri........maybe less so when it's stormy.

  • Yes, you're right on both counts, Joyce.  It faces north-east though and storms normally come from the south-west... it's never been flooded, luckily.  image
