    Morning all image

Dry but dull. Intentions are good for getting a bit done in the garden but other stuff to be done first.

Hello all, from the train to Harrogate.  It's the first day of the flower show so everything should be pristine, hopefully.  I'll confess what I've purchased later image

Hope you all have a happy day!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Morning all/afties Pat if you're there - I haven't read back yet.

Only the 2nd day of the r***y election billhooks -  is this the most stupid  question of the year so far? Reporter sent to Snowdonia ('cos TM apparently decided on the election while there )

Reporter  to wumman in t-shirt - ' I hear you met her ( while running down a hill) '

Wumman - 'yes, blah, blah, blah '(random chat about the hill and the area etc)

Reporter- 'so, no mention of the election? '

Yeh - that's right, love - she asked the wumman for her thoughts about calling an election......image

Really BBC? Is that the best you can come up with? Get a grip.

Anyway - been damp here and a bit grey but looks like it'll improve. Went for a short walk last night before dinner so that's more like it.

Don't spend too much Liri image

HAve a good day everyone - whatever you're doing image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Well done, Liri. I hope it does well. A couple of weeks ago, some new trees were planted in the local park. Some little s***s snapped the trees in half over the Easter weekend. image

I had four chitted potatoes left from the marathon planting at SIL's. I spent yesterday planting them. The planting took ten minutes. Digging out the couch grass that was invading from under some slabs took hours.  I am hardening off sweet peas and broad beans with a view to getting them  in the ground at the weekend. Anyone got the sweet peas in the ground yet? These are Spring sown, so probably not as advanced as the autumn sown.

A blackbird was stood on the edge of the pond, helping himself to large fat tadpoles.  A couple of butterflies were flitting around, and the beeflies zip around like golden snitches.

Mrs Duck came for breakfast yesterday on her own. Then Lenny the neighbours bengal cat turned up. He looked really pleased with himself as he yowled by the back door. He has taken to running around the garden, more like a terrier than a cat.

After planting the potatoes, I came back down the garden to find Mr and Mrs  Duck sat on the flat garage roof.  No sign of Lenny, so they had another feed on the lawn.

To say we have no pets, my animal food bill is soaring.  I have to put in an order for live mealworms for the robins soon.

Its a bit drizzly here this morning. Have a good day folks.

T'other half went for a walk up the mountain at the back of SIL's place. That is in Snowdonia. They overlook Manod.  I was lazy and just planted tatties. Apparently they used to do this walk regularly as teenagers.  However, now approaching pensionable age, SIL, BIL, and hubby spent most of the next day complaining about how stiff their calves were. image That would be Maundy Thursday. They didn't meet any political types up there. Apparently by the lake it was very quiet, not even traffic noise to be heard.

I gave TM the benefit of the doubt when we came along, but having seen her resolutely refuse to say "yes" or "no" to a question and give the usual " the most important thing is...."  blah , blah blah. This is what I've decided to say no matter what you ask me,  routine.

Now she's refusing to take part in live debates..

She's as bad as the rest.

Morning all. I hope I have more energy today.

I wish it would rain, I will be watering again. I woke  too late to see if there was a frost, but thermometer says it went down to 0°.

Morning all, evening Pat, glad yesterday went well, have fun with your new arty bits! image

BusyL, I'm just off to buy a hose adapter that apparently fits a number of kitchen taps due to empty water butts no rain and very tired arms! Lawn seed not really wanting to grow in these conditions! Tried to stick a fork in the ground yesterday, thought, hmm, must be a brick under the surface, nope! Just that's now hard the ground is!
