Thank you Chicky & Liri for your messages, I have just sent one back to both of you.  Looking forward to meeting you both.  Really sorry you're not coming Dove as you've helped me out previously on some of my gardening queries and would love to have met you.  I'm sure we will at some point in time.  Have a good weekend everyone X

Weather forecast is better now. If anything a little too warm!

I have bailed out of various duties today in order to try to feel better for tomorrow - I have a lurgy that is trying to get me but I'm not giving in.

Are people bringing food or planning to buy food there? (I think I know the answer to this but don't want to find myself the only picnic-less person).

We were in London for a 10 day holiday end of June beginning of July .

We bought the membership for the Royal palaces , great bargain .

We visited all the palaces including Kew and Hampton Court. The herbaceous border at Hampton Court is amazing and I believe it is the longest in the world .

I really would have loved to have met you and everyone else too ... put faces to names etc ... but hopefully this is just the start of some really good adventures together ... the East Anglian contingent have had some lovely garden visits together, and of course there was the Hodsocks Brigade ... now we widen our scope ..........  Have a wonderful trip everyone ... I'll be there in spirit ... if you hear a cooing or hear a fluttering of wings ..... image

I know ... it's funny how quickly we learn to answer to new names isn't it ... I happily answer to 'Dove' and when my daughter phones up I often say 'Hello Wonky' ......... daft ain't it .......... but rather nice too image

Sorry i know this is off topic.........

Just thinking of Royal Gardens and was reading something about Tudor today and it reminded me of this useful mnemonic for remembering the Royal Dynastic Houses of England and Great Britain

No Plan Like Yours To Study History Wisely

Norman , Plantagenet , Lancaster , York, Tudor, Stuart, Hanover , Windsor

(The non dynastic ones like Orange et al are omitted )

Reminds me of my schooldays, Dachalover...  image

Re sandwiches:  I could buy some on the way if a picnic was voted for.  Can't bring any from home cos I'm leaving in 4 and a half hours & they would be a bit un-appetising by tomorrow lunchtime!  image  But I'm happy to buy food there.  This trip is a special treat from me to me... so eating in a cafe is ok.  image
