Deals on plants!

TigrahTigrah Posts: 125

Hey guys, forgive me if this had been fine before, but I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread where everyone could shareasily deals that they have found online or in store so that we can all have or gardens and planters full, as well as our wallets!

I'll start off with 300 bulbs from a T&M email I received today:

Morrisons have got really healthy looking Hellebores for £3 each, and small(ish) evergreen shrubs for £2 each.

I only had chance to have a quick look, but yes, I think they were all white.

Alot of our know wiljo has some good deals in at the moment, but it's worth checking back. This week my local store added a bunch of different climbers at cheap prices - I can't really remember the exact price but I think it was around £5 maybe? Possibly cheaper. They had honeysuckle, clematis and passion flowers amongst others. I'm going to go back and get some!

Not a plant deal but I picked up one of those plastic grow houses from my local Wyevale for £25 - 50% off. Cheaper than a smaller one which is £30!

I've had great success with seeds from Wilko , but I've not tried Lidl's. Has anyone any experience of them?

Aym: I love porridge oats! Can't seen to get the birds in my garden yet though image

Nick: That looks a good deal! I bought a  large hexagonal one at the end of the growing season last year from BnM for £8 and it was great! Yours looks to be a lot sturdier though! Honestly in not sure if nine will last to next year.

Perki/hostafan/jaffa: I tried a few of the seeds last year and they went well-ish. I got some mixes that started to sprout on the front garden, when my neighbour's mother decided to help by spraying weedkiller on them when she was weedkillers his overgrown lawn. They died. I also got some mixed squash seeds that I forgot about and grew too late so they grew but I only got one fruit before the frost killed them off. It was my first growing year and I was young and naive image

I didn't know Lidl did bare-roots! I dint think I saw any last year so I'll keep a look out.

Rosemummy: I nearly bought that same hellebore deal from hayloft (I think) But decided I best wait until I've put all my other plants in and see where to put them as I'm not sure where to put them in relation to other plants. I did buy two helleborus Niger from Lidl though, haha! The double Ellen ones look gorgeous! Definitely need them in my collection. I need to arrange a trip to B&Q for some cheap snowdrops!
