Cute skink, didn't know reptiles were motherly.

Lovely autumn gardens, each one has it's own character.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks BusyL. She has about 7 or 8 young ones, they are from three different hatchings, based on their sizes. They come over to wait for chopped carrot and to lay in the sun to wa4m up.

a Crab Apple that I grew from seed about 10 years ago. I don’t know the variety but the fruit can be the size of a small apple - about 3” across and dark red in colour. The flowers are slightly perfumed as well.

I planted a row of them. Too big, I need to resize the photo.

Lovely blossom Pat - did you grow all of them from seed?

Yes Chicky. The fruit came from a friend’s garden in the village, and he didn’t know which one they were either. The old couple who used to own that property have passed on, so he couldn’t ask. I’ve got a row of 9. Interestingly, an example of seedling variation, one of them has green leaves while the others are all purple leaved. I’m not very happy about my row being mucked up colour wise, but I’m not starting over again at this advanced stage. image

Love your pics of your borders, punkdoc!

Lovely crab apple blossoms, Pat E. Too bad you have to protect the trees from kangaroos / koalas / etc. with this unsightly chicken-wire.
