Not a patch on any of your gorgeous gardens but we have made a start. 20+ bags of overgrown shrubs etc. A touch of wood stain & an attempt of a natural bird feeder (Olaf the bird cafe) & a bench Next door had to have a huge pine tree cut down so we did a little re-cycling.
Our regular visitor (Percy), he soon lets us know when the bird cafe has run low by tapping on the patio doors to tell us.
I am really enjoying this forum, help there when needed but also a lighter note with a bitbrilliant of, fun xx
We are getting there. As said in previous posts, only inheriting the garden last October, it's been a waiting game this year to see what the garden has to offer.....and believe me, it's an awful lot, we have had colour since february and new things still coming through. Hence why joining this forum as my knowledge is very little.
I may add that (on the before pic) it is my poor suffering hubby that is stood on top of the pagoda pulling wild shrub from strangling the conifer. Bless him, he gets most the physical stuff & I get to do most of the pretty stuff. Not only that he can be lethal with secateurs so is only allowed to use under supervision to save any flowers that dare to reach out too far haha.
Chicky
So glad you put your pic up, It has shown my hubby that a garden does not have to be uniform with a place for everything, but can be natural and still stunning.
Chicky's phlox border looks fab too, wish I had an area that size to plant up - I'm rubbish at planting straight-sided shapes but I'd have a go
It's raining here again, don't think some of these flowers can stand another pour-down so don't expect them to recover
Thought my planting was more ebullient than this, but here's the mid-part the other day
Thanks to gardenmaiden for the francoa sonch seeds, this is the first year they've got into their stride
This is Westerplatte, last year I think it opened an almost-red this year it is just pink, looks like it'll be a thriver though which I like in a plant
Beauti pic everyone. So nice to see all the seasonal blooms. My terrace has a decidedly pink and purple theme this year....totally unplanned. With a hint of everything else......most of which are surprise plants like the sunflower which seemed to grow overnight in one of my large boxes!
Davids coleus seem able to withstand anything. I have loads and when everything else struggles they give loads of colour. Nice to see I'm not the only one who does not hate them.

Wow Chicky - that border is fantastic! Love the harmonious colours.
You have a smashing plot there linzi64uk - really like the Pagoda seating area.
My pics are only done on my phone. I do have a camera, but they are a faff to upload and take up loads of memory.

Surprise sunflowers are always the strongest and most natural looking I think, nice to see your pics jacquim
Beautiful Ms. Sponge-how have you been?
A month of temps. between 98 and 104 with humidity under 10% has been hell on the garden-the only thing I have to offer is this coleus.
Hey davids, good to have you back on the forum
