The yellow hosta ... hmm... quick Google ... I'm pretty sure it was Fire Island. We have a great nursery near us who have unusual plants at lovely prices but their labelling doesn't generally come home with you. I believe I chose it because the stems are red to pick up the red in the plant behind it.
Joyce, I have a history with paeonies. I found this one under a Wiegela in my last garden, potted it up and it took 2-3 years to flower. I then brought it with me to this garden and planted it out and it was as happy as Larry. We booked some building work and they wanted to drive a soakaway through where it was planted so it had to come up. Then blow me, I found another one in this new garden under the privet hedge! This is also in a pot but showing no sign of buds this year so next year maybe..? I'm hoping the new one is yellow. Isn't gardening exciting!
It could be squirrels Cloggie. We have a few that visit the garden - as well as rabbits, badgers, muntjacs, mice, etc. The ones in pots ion the patio have survived so far.
I had some help in the garden today. It's the earliest I ever remember the Lilac being out, it usually begins at the start of May. The scent is delicious.
Just thought I would share a few from this morning done the painting of the fences now really like the colour it shows the plants of really well always had that red paint glad I changed. Spring plants are what I really like as you can tell will do a few more tomorrow as went out today.
Some lovely pix here again. Those clems are looking beautiful Cloggie. Lovely to see so many things so far on
Nice blossom Mark, and a good buy with your Aquilegia
I think they both are Joyce. They're in pots till I get them in a permanent place in one of the 'paler' borders, and one has a label with Thalia on it. The 'petals' are slighty broader than Silver Chimes but they're very similar. You don't see SC so often.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I'm giving up on tulips in the ground. Not sure which bit of the local wildlife does this but it happens regularly.
Gorgeous Spring pics
fingers crossed for those who need it against slugs!
Cloggie, which variety is that yellow Hosta? It's FAB.
Great to see the spring growth Cloggie Clematis both have a lovely fresh feel to them. Do you keep your peony in a pot permanently?
Would it be squirrels Slum?

You were posting at the same time as me James. Really lovely bit of colour.
Do you replace some of the pots with summer colour when the daffs etc have gone over?
