Loving the signs of spring. Gorgeous colour, GD, glad you found the thread. I noticed bumble bees too in the garden today. My winter honeysuckle is out but I can only smell it when I go right up and sniff it. I had thought the air around would be full of perfume when I planted it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I love the little reticulata Irises too. I have a very dark purple one, but they're on their way out now. I've had three years from them though, so can't complain. I'll get more in the autumn.
Pauline is good dark one - but I can't recall which one I have now....
It's very similar though. This is it at it's best a couple of years ago.
Less flowers this year
Lovely pic with the bee GD
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It looks a little like Iris Reticulata George but I can see white instead of yellow nevertheless still absolutely beautiful I think they may be my favourite late winter/spring flowering bulb. I'm taken by Aconites this year as well.
The Iris in pots are a couple of weeks later this year than last but the crocus are early by a month, very unpredictable. Although its mild its been raining here for two days now, nothing heavy but just drizzly murk really annoying, although it makes work easier to go to knowing I couldn't be out anyway.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Been a very nice day today, been able to do alot of tidying and cutting back, some signs of spring.
I have only just found this site, and thought you might like to see my Anemone de Caen picture taken today with a welcome visitor
