Love the Heucheras Bob, aren't they fab? I have one with a name like Giant Peach or something like that. I love it. It's especially amazing when the sun is behind it. With East being behind it when you look at it from the house, it's sometimes alight when I get up in the morning. Here's a pic with it in the background but it's shady, I thought I'd caught it lit up but can't find the pic.
Ah, found it lit up. Not as impressive as I remembered! Wait until it fills in though! We gardeners are like Fishermen and their big one that got away he he!!
Gorgeous pix GD and Bob. I love that Anemone too. I've rescued a couple which were lost as they'd got accidentally planted in with something else. White with purple anthers - they're a bit bedraggled but will hopefully recover.
I think you have quite a lot of the same species tulips as me Bob. Just waiting fro a few more to come through.I'm not so keen on them in the border, but those chrysantha ones are nice for cutting. I've got some in the kitchen.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
With your weather being a bit behind mine Fairy, it means we can keep the photos coming for longer! I bought a tulip species 'collection' last year (can't remember who from, maybe Parkers?) I have them in a small raised (~1m x 4m) bed and seem to fit in better than in a big border.
PS, my 'unknown' tree peony is opening:

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Bob - I decided to put in a load of species ones after having a few in a previous garden. The aspect of the new extension gave me the opportunity to have a 'hot' border - strong, bright clashing colours, but also plants which simply like drier conditions. I love those little species tulips best. Waiting for the Little Beauty ones to open - should be any day now - and they're scented apparently

I also have that one Cloggie and can confirm that it does glow
Is it called Giant Peach Joyce?
Cloggie, I lost my box of plant labels so am not sure now what all my heucheras are.

Ooh, I have those too - didn't know they were scented - will be 'nosing' around them at the weekend then!
