Obelixx - friend has also found some self sown seedlings under the tree peony.  Like me, she is on the cool, damp west coast.

Neither cool nor damp here in summer Joyce.    There's been a drought between mid July and mid January and less than 20cms since we set up a weather station in mid Jan.   Warm enough to garden in a sleeveless t-shirt this pm.   Mine is also growing in grass so any babies will be mown unless I cut some grass away and clear its feet.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

  • Such pretty flowers Joyce, so delicate and the tiny detail is wonderful.  I don't know this plant at all.  Do the flowers come in other colours?

GD   I have only seen L Vernus in the pale pink and bluish pink.  I have another small lathyrus which has a different type of orange flower, (label lost)  All die down autumn 'til spring.  Seeds will be available if you would like some.

Lovely catch up on all your beautiful pictures, so much colour, amazing how every day you go in the garden and  something new has bloomed ?

  • Yes, you are right Beaus Mum - that is one of the most wonderful things about nature - nothing stays the same - if you are vigilant enough to notice the slight changes that evolve from day to day, week to week then I can only say from my own experiences that it is a pure joy to behold and we are so lucky to be able to enjoy this variety of life on our doorsteps.
