I love the naturalistic effect, Marion - happy plants, no room for weeds...  image

I could do with such a sale, to slim down my collection of gardening books... I think they must be breeding in my bookcases!  image

Hope the sale goes well.  I imagine your plants will be quickly snapped up - they look lovely and healthy.  image

The sale takes place over the Easter weekend, GWRS but the volunteers collect for it the week before.  We are at the mercy of the weather usually.  Good weather brings out the flowers and the crowds. My friend is on duty Sunday and Monday afternoon but in the greenhouses which is sensible as he is over 80.  Weather is fine at the moment.Yes the gardens do need rain here too.  My waterbutts are all empty which is galling as I have so many pots needing watered and my water is metered.

Hello , waterbutts ok , however , we have a stream that runs at the side of garden so I just fill the water can from that that if required image

Blossom galore up the garden today, fruit and clematis montana plus thousands of bluebells and still lots of daffs and tulips.  All so pretty but needing rain

Ho Marion, what's the pink flowers called in the second picture?

  • happymarionhappymarion Posts: 4,591

Clematis montana atropurpurea, Flumpy.  It grows all over my garage roof and looks tremendous for about six weeks.  Sometimes depending on the summer we have it flowers again September for about a month.  I paid £2 for the original plant decades ago.
