Superb gardening weather.  I found two large pots so two of my new magnolias have been potted up while the third is sitting in the rain butt having a long drink while I scour the pots for one big enough.  i only paid £5 each for them from T& M so never expected them to be so big!  I will plant them out in the garden in the autumn if they take off in their huge pots.  Last of the potatoes now planted so next week I will have an onslought on the onion sets and shallots.  I have to get my contribution to the Botanic garden Easter Sale ready for Wednesday too this week.  It is lovely to have such good weather when you are so busy.  Must find time to take some pics my garden is so lovely.

Your tulips are opening day by day Marion, beautiful.

lovely day here too. I have  been using a kitchen fork to dig up primrose seedlings from the grass before it gets cut next week.Nature's free bounty is always welcome.

The kitchen fork tip is a good one, thanks Joyce!  We found one in the cupboard under the stairs when we moved in, so it could well be relegated to the shed... I use an old bread knife to cut dandelions out of the lawn.

Liri, I also use it to tease moss out of plants in the stone troughs although the blackbirds are quite good at doing that!

I've got eyebrow tweezers to do that job among the tiny saxifrages growing in my dad's lump of tufa!  Sad, isn't it...  image

I have tufa in one of the troughs and so far just rub over it with a rubber glove,,,,,,,,,might resort to eyebrow tweezers in the future but maybe not as it would take a whileimage

One pot of tulips was so dry i left it in the waterbutt overnight. we had 19 degrees yesterday and many hours of sunshine.  It is a beautiful day again today and the flowers are so bright the garden looks like it is studded with jewels.
