Marion, that pink tulip is beautiful. Do you have a note of the name? My tulip bulbs are all late ones this year and the field mice have been at them......They were protected against squirrels. It's a battle against the wildlife!
I have already made a note of some bulbs to order in the autumn. Last summer I won £100 in the Hospice lottery and a proportion of that went on bulbs. Maybe ERNIE will be good to me too!
Maybe I should start a "bulb fund" - collecting £2 coins might provide a useful sum by autumn. I've been photographing my garden too, Marion, taking a leaf out of your book! - but in order to see where the gaps are, for putting more bulbs in later. I can never remember where there are spaces come September.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
That frilly red tulip was from Bloms bulbs so you might find its picture and name Joyce! Funny how labels disappear! I think foxes steal them as toys for the cubs in my garden. I have a whole sweet jar full of the balls i have found brought back from other gardens for the cubs all with teeth punctures in them! Given up gardening for today as I am hungry having skipped lunch. It was too warm and sunny to come in for any.
First I had a great big whiff of perfume from my bulbs then I investigated the inside of my tulips now opening up in the brilliant sunshine we are having, then I opened the huge bag which the courier has just brought mw which is three very big magnolia bare root trees - Black Tulip, Denudata White and Yellow river by name. They are all having a big drink now before planting and I a needed one too.

Liri - I used to save £2 coins in a tin for the garden.....it's amazing how it mounts up.
Now I use my pension money.
