The flower stems could still be on the way for your tulips, Flumpy. They may be late ones. I buy early ,mid season and late types of tulips as I love to have them late spring and early summer. If you bought big enough bulbs there should be a flower in each. My late varieties have only leaves too but I am sure the flowers will arrive in May.
GWRS - so sorry to hear you have been poorly. Do wrap up well if you venture into the garden. It is bright but still nippy in Bristol. Here are my friend's Narcissi "Kaydee" to cheer you.
Yes he does Flumpy - small but perfectly formed and he is an excellent gardener, Whereas I have a half acre in which i wrestle with nature but now and again she helps like now when the compost bins are in a sea of celandines in bloom and primroses are flowering their socks off in all the cracks in the crazy paving!
I love the way primroses are so generous with their seeds. I have them flowering in the gravel path - I suppose I ought to move them out of the way, but they soften the edges beautifully.
You were writing about dividing your primulas a few days ago, Marion. My drumstick primulas are just beginning to open; we must be a couple of weeks behind you, I think.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Gloomy day in Bristol today but my spring flowers are bright spots. I think so far i have added another 30 or so primulas to my colony by my dividing this year. Still more to do, Liriodendron,
