Hello , there is a mains stop cock under a cover on the grass verge by the main road which needs to be turned on
I said we pay £55 pa that’s £50 for the plot and £5 to cover the standing charge from Anglia Water , they give a special reduced rate for Allotments
The Association actually make a small profit from the water that people buy
There is a water rota on Saturday’s , as far as I known nobody steals water , as the cost is so reasonable

Went up to check on the allotment, didn't have the time to do much else as yesterday it rained so heavily no outside activities could be carried out.

One of my waterbutts had fallen over, heavy with water, must have slipped on the clay. It didn't hit the greenhouse fortunately. Will stabilise when ground has dried out after the forecast rain.

Stuff's looking ok, especially the weeds. Trying to weed around the poppies, but there's plenty of them. All my cell raspberries are still alive, been in the ground since, I want to say, Palm Sunday. Tiny though.

I thought I'd killed all my young lupins and seedlings the other week, mixture of heat, drying winds and neglect. The lupins and ten of the verbascum Phoenician have come back to life, brought them back to the garden to keep an eye on them. They needed potting on anyway, compost must have been spent.

Allotment rent still on hold, heard they will be changing the commercial grade of the water (different charges) for future bills.

Not had much time at the allotment recently, been away and preoccupied with other things...

Went up on Sunday, plot is very weedy or flowery, depending how you see things. Everything is still alive, rescued my standard gooseberry from some super-tall docks.  Crab apple is looking a bit ropy but I'm not sure what it wants so will hope it recovers on its own.
Alliums have now gone over and the flower bed is coming through:

I did quite a bit of weeding, I still haven't sorted out my weed disposal system so am leaving them to dry out on the ground. The heavier bits of ground are impossible to work at the moment, but I am getting there, it's vastly improved.

I have 3 flowers from the foxtail lilies I dug up and dried out over winter, so it turns out it's ok to do that. They often don't flower first year after moving (for me anyway):

I also need to tie in the blackberries which are getting bigger. I don't know if they root if they hit the ground? I have a lot of space for them. Raspberries are looking well, can't wait until I have so many I can't eat them, then I'll try and make them into other things.

One of the other plotholders gave me some nice white potatoes, looking forward to them😋

Hello , be positive , definitely flowery 🌺
Just spent a week getting plot up to date following a holiday
Blackberries in theory can root if touching the ground , personally not had any success in doing that , however , gooseberries do it easily
We Picked some summer raspberries and loads of strawberries 🍓

Ooh, you have summer rasps already? Cool, mine are not yet fully cooked, I'm double cropping some of my Joan J for a summer crop too, looking forward to them🙂

Had a walk up the allotment yesterday but just to check everything was ok. Did a 26 mile walk for charity on Saturday so it was nice to walk a couple of miles and un-stiffen🙂

Had one red rasp on Polka but didn't eat it. Flower patch is looking colourful, I'd tried to weed around the poppies:

Will try and get up there and tidy up a bit over the next few weeks.

Very impressive 26 mile walk , many many years ago did 22
Poppies / flowers 💐 are looking good , they obviously like this weather
O/H has been to allotment today and picked loads of raspberries to make jam tomorrow afternoon
I have spent all day cutting hedges , having a beer or two before dinner

18 miles is about enough for me, feel like I've done enough but not to the point where it stops being fun🙂

Raspberry jam😋 My favourite jam, nice with a scone👍
