It's a straight line of plots, Gardengirl, behind the bank is a school playing field, about 6' higher than the level of the allotment.
Limped up to allotment today, didn't do much, just to check on the place really. Decided on an area to have my rotting wood pile and moved most of the collected pile that was sat where I want to plant some sloes. Was dying to collapse the crap heap but controlled myself in case there's a hedgepig inside.
Did a bit of measuring and decided where to put the compost heap, although I'm not sure what form it will take.
Been looking at some reduced price currants and a green gooseberry, wondering if I should go absolutely nuts and buy them?
Thank for the explanation about your allotments, not good limping poorly, I need to do some measuring
If all the fruit is a bargain go for it
Wilkinsons have half price bird boxes at £2.50 each so I have ordered a few online - I spotted them on a video on YouTube I am following - I will make one of them for a robin
Lots of digging done today till feet went too cold
Only went up for a visit today but ended up digging four of my seven intended beds.
Current plan is to have a line of blackthorn where the bread tray and pallet base is up near the shack and another bed behind that. A 6th bed will go where the fence piece is lying on the floor and another behind that. The heap is in that space at the moment though.
It looked like someone had been fiddling with the heap so I pulled a bit more wood out and added it to the wildlife wood pile. Dying to get on and collapse it now, it seems like it is standing in the way of all progress but I would be gutted if I disturbed a hibernating creature so desisted.
Butt is filling up nicely, once it's full and sturdy will attach the second one which will lead onto me sorting the bramble and rubbish mess and somehow mending the shack roof.
P.S Broke my digging stick, but it's okay, it still works
I met some more of my fellow allotmenteers today, the people who own the greenframed greenhouse on the ground. They seem very nice and new to allotmenting like myself
Also have some tiny leaves appearing on one of my rhubarb lumps, very exciting?
Hi Gardengirl Yes, two greenhouses on the site went over in the high winds a few weeks back, caused quite a bit of damage locally, trees, fences etc.
Today's intention is to dig some of the sedums out the front garden and take them up to the allotment to free a bit of planting space. They are not the most popular bee plant in the garden but I thought it might encourage bees to visit the lotment. I'm constrained as I'm still in my pajamas. Somehow getting dressed seems like more of a chore than transplanting the sedums.
Only took two sedums up in the end, planted them in bed 2 with the linaria already in. The rootballs were much bigger than I imagined and I could only fit two in the trug.
Just shifting the two has given me some planting inspiration for the front garden, however slight and I rearranged some pots on the ground and moved a small solidago from the back.
Also at the 'lotment I shifted my currants by about 6". I'm a bit pernickety (?) and decided to have them 4.5' apart to enable me to fit in two more currants and keep some symmetry. Found a space for a guelder rose I have in the garden, also a yew sapling, if I can move it okay, and a rhapsody in blue rose which is outgrowing it's space.
I think I've decided to clear the bank at the rear and plant clover, it looks like it might get sufficent sun in the summer months. Might make a few wildlife hideyholes also as I don't think it can be gardened properly.

Great going I got some digging done today, That is what happens you go to the plot for something and end up doing lots more
Did your neighbours green house break cause of the strong winds?
