Lantana - do go to the V&A. Last time I went about 3 years ago the galleries I particularly wanted to visit were closed for refurbishment. Now, that usually means move things around and give it a lick of paint... But this was much more than that. Lots of money - but, for once, you can really see where it's been spent.
As for the whisky... I did do a double take - and then another - nearly took a photo.....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
A bit more humble but today I found a bar of mil chocolate with each square filled with whisky so I've bought one for Possum for St Nicholas. Can't stand whisky myself but she likes an occasional tot of Jamieson's after a trip to Ireland with her pals.
I lived in London in my 20s and then Harrow in my 30s but never made it to the V&A. Too busy just living and working. I did have 2 dealings with Harrod's. The first was when they had a special offer on a dishwasher in their January sales and I told OH not to come home without a receipt for one - wedding promise he was wriggling about. Their van duly drew up and delivered the machine - lots of twitching of net curtains from the neighbours.
The second time was when I was fed up of him ruining the lines of his decent work suit by wearing an anorak over it in winter so I carted him off in the sales to look for decent overcoat. Harrod's had the only one I liked but at £300 in Jan 1985 it was beyond our reach so we trotted off to Liberty's where I bought 3 metres of 60" Harris tweed and some fancy lining and made him a proper raglan sleeved coat which he still has now.
Have to go and pack now. Trip to Namur. Dogs in kennels for 4 days and kittens coming with us ocs they're too small to leave and haven't had their jabs cos of his flu. Luckily they are now the best of pals so should be OK.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I think we will be car hunting on Saturday. It looks like it will be written off. The bill for fixing it is over ten grand. The rear end would have to be totally rebuilt, and one of the seats replaced, apparently it has anti whiplash, which has to be then replaced for the next time!!!
Better that than an ambulance and hospital.
His laptop is slightly bent but still working. If someone was in the back, I guess they might be bruised but OK.
Fidget - OH being ok is still the best outcome you could possibly wish for - but I also hope the car insurance does what it's supposed to. Fingers crossed for you.

ive been out for a morning inspection of the garden, turned on soaker hoses and hand watered where necessary, just waiting for the washing machine to finish the clothes and then for me to put them on the line and spend the rest of the day inside. Maybe the air con will be on again later. Prediction will be 30c. It's also a bit windy.
my body is still trying to adjust to medication, but today is a bit better than yesterday.
Sorry to hear about the Volvo being wrecked. We had a Volvo 121 years ago and we loved it. Hope you get another good one.
cant think what else I've read - oh yes, the lack of electrics - I'd find that impossible. Can't stand being either too hot or cold. Hope it gets sorted soon.

We will be getting another Volvo tank.
Love the pussycats.
Hubby is allergic to cats so we won't be getting one, but I would love a dog.
Obelixx......such a lovely photograph of the kittens.....I'm envious.
I hope they don't "sing" on the drive to Namur as our one did when we went to our daughter's.
Meemows are so cute Obelixx - love the cuddling
