Liri - the view from the island reminded me of that lovely spell of weather in November. . . cold but lots of sun. I hope it will be the same for you next month.
What a shame GD. It's quite sad when the ground is disappearing, even if it's removing something which is a reminder of an unhappy time. I was wondering what the little building was too.
Lovely pix Liri. Hoar frost makes a great subject when it's on vegetation of any kind. Love the tree too.
Loch Linnhe - like most of our lochs - is beautiful at any time, but there's no doubt the blue sky and a 'dicht' of snow add a certain something. Hope it warms up for you in March. The winds have been pretty brisk recently.
I was just looking at a chap's walk report from Saturday - one of the four Tyndrum hills - and the summit cairn pic is spectacular. It's a wave of frozen snow. Wish I could do a link to it. it's really beautiful
The snow was so dazzling on The Mamores and the Nevis hills that they almost didn't show up properly in the photos. Always a delight when it's like that.
I stopped and took a quick pic of Ben Lomond on the way back too, to add to my collection of 'The Beacon HIll' of Glasgow. The clag that had shrouded it on the outward journey had lifted from the summit.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi everyone, I've not posted a shot for quite a while, so here is a Short-eared Owl sat on a post, these are such incredibly birds when seen at close range, they have such amazing eyes when you are caught in that stare.
Beautiful shot, Fairy...love the snow capped peaks.
Funny thing is GD - that hill is on the A82 as you head towards Glencoe, so it's not really remote at all! There is just open landscape all the way from Tyndrum to Glencoe, with lots of Munros on each side of the road as well as Rannoch Moor. The road cuts through the Glencoe hills so that part is quite dramatic.
This was taken last year when I was on the same hill - you can see the road down below

Thank you Joyce. I hope so too!

Beautiful detail Sheps. Certainly has piercing eyes and the face is nicely framed with the circle of white feathers.
Thanks very much, Joyce
Just beautiful Sheps. Someone mentioned Merlins the other day and it reminded me of you! I must go back to Glen Lyon and see if I can spot them again.
I'm always meaning to ask you - do you sell your photos, or is it a hobby? Everything about your photos is so beautiful
I read yesterday that the chap who's one the Landscape photographer of the year is from Skye.
Missed my hills this weekend - and last weekend. Minging weather
I can always look at the pix from better days out though

Beautiful pictures Fairy and Sheps. That snow scene just takes my breath away, the beauty and remoteness of it is stunning.
The short eared owl looks nothing like our local barn owls, the feather markings are so defined and those eyes so piercing.
