Karcher free hose offer

I received my November subscriber edition of Gardeners World at midday today. I tried to apply for the Karcher hose reel offer but by 1 pm the offer was closed!
No chance for anybody who is at work during the day.

That's odd, I called at 4pm and it was no problem!

Very sorry that you weren't able to claim a hose reel - the offer was limited to the first 3,000 callers, and they were claimed very quickly on a first come, first served basis.
Due to the popularity of the offer, the hose reels had all been claimed by 5pm (the lines would have been open until 7:30pm). As soon as we were instructed that the hose reels had all been claimed, we updated the web page straight away. Demand was very high and we weren't expecting them to go quite as quickly as they did.
Do keep an eye on future Secret Garden emails, where all offers will be advertised, with plenty of time to access them (this particular offer was advertised in the Secret Garden email on Friday 21st October). Once again, sorry that you weren't able to claim a hose reel.
Received my Subscribers Gardeners World Magazine today the 25th October. I signed up to the Secret Garden some time ago and did not see the e-mail regarding the offer, in fact, I don't think I have ever had an e-mail from the Secret Garden.

I cant even log into Secret Garden, despite having all the relevant passwords and codes. Wasted a chunk of time this morning and now find the above letters saying the offer is closed! I cant believe Gardens World mag didnt anticipate the popularity of this offer!! Wont be bothering with any more Secret Garden stuff or offers. Waste of time, sadly. Why cant you be really helpful and get the Karcher Hose Reel at a special GW offer for everyone (even if its not £5.99). That would be fair and useful to us all.
That doesn't explain why one caller is told the offer has closed at 1pm when somebody else got through successfully at 4pm the same day.
Only received my magazine today and found out the offer is closed, perhaps you should wait until people
have all received their magazines before you open the offer then it's more fair, it looks like I'm a few days later in getting mine than most so I've had no chance. Doesnt seem a fair deal to me.

The hosepipe offer was a farce and misleading. There is no mention on the cover sheet that stock is limited (only overleaf). Next to the asterisk on the cover sheet it says "just pay £5.99 P&P".

Surely it would have been better to offer more hose-pipes at a slightly higher but still discounted price, that way ensuring more of your loyal readers get a chance to benefit from a deal. Instead, this offer was effectively open to people who got their magazine early or have the spare time to log into this 24/7.
Very poor.
