It must be difficult without the right tools. Hope it turns out ok. Because we have 3 goldies we had to make sure that they didn't get out when they went in and out with things. This is our downstairs toilet now,my hubby calls it the cloak room.
We had all the pipes blocked in and tiled, the cupboard under the basin hides the pipes.
This is the bathroom,it all had to be replaced because nothing worked anymore.
This is the hall that we're doing now,it's taking a long time because we have 3 goldies and we have to take them for their walks. Had to paint the doors in the evenings. Now we're wall papering..
Projects? Well at the moment I have no lounge (no electrics, plaster, fire place, heating, or ceiling) and the same applies for the hallway and bedroom. the kitchen has also taken the brunt of our DIY but half of it is usable (if you think of it more like camping).
The pond still hasn't been lined (other half is meant to be doing this... but then he promised it me 2 years ago) but is at least full and I am researching a carnivorous bog garden to live in one corner.
As for the rest of the garden... when is a garden ever not work in progress? I have big plans for the garden. The trouble is that they keep changing!
My main project at the moment is sourcing help for my friend who has just been diagnosed with early onset dementia. I have literally been sitting on the phone for the last few weeks. Getting there but it has taken huge efforts. Every thing in my own life has taken a back seat.

Aym280,good for you. Hubby doesn't have the confidence to do a lot of DIY. He had to ask a friend to help him put up a florescent light. But he can do the wallpapering.:)
Ha! That's an epic amount of work, Fairy! I must admit to flinching slightly at the thought of so much painted fence. Our last house used to have one and it was tedious having to repaint it every year just to keep it looking good (not bad?)
..and it's all double sided too, Bob
A concrete liner's a good idea, but I'm not sure how well it would get pushed up just with liner filled with water. Perhaps if the mix was very soft , but it would take a while to go off I think. Let us know how you get on though
Ugh. Double-sided! It worked okay actually. I took the water (ballast) out yesterday and it's set well and is still holding the water in place. After pouring in the wet cement I did push the bag around to force the cement upwards and I think the water proved sufficient weight to keep it in place whilst it hardened. I need to add a little more cement as my low point (little overflow waterfall bit) is not currently the lowest point, I found a gap (above the pool that I've cast here, not a hole in the cast). Not unexpected, I didn't want to do too much in one go in case the pool setting idea was just rubbish. So, that's me this week, finish that off then empty my compost bin in to the cracks at the base of the rockery ready for planting up.
Clarington, that is an epic amount of work. Have you just moved in or time for a change? I love the brickwork on the fire, are you going to keep it exposed?
Aym, What smells do you get coming in through your loft? Have you heard of positive input ventilators? They draw air in from the loft, filter it and create positive pressure in your house designed to reduce condensation. As It contains a filter I thought it might help with that side of your problem but if you have any condensation problems it'll sort that out. You're then free just to use standard (cheaper) loft insulation.

Aym280, thanks yes they're lovely. Had the floor done as well. Did have a few problems, but sorted now.

Aym this is beyond one room at a time! If I could do all of the work myself I would but unfortunately disability rather puts paid to that.
Hog; I wish you and your friend lots of luck and best wishes.
Aym280,no I don't pressurise him.If he can do it I let him.
Still doing the hall, put another piece of paper up. Got to do round the radiator.
