We have more than enough days ( hundreds of them ) of cloud and wind and rain all year round. A few days ( and that's all it's been ) of nice hot sunny weather is well overdue.
I shall be out in my garden after breakfast and won't come back in until about 7 this evening.
It's the same here Host, but we have now had 16 days without rain, and a little refreshing rain would be most welcome. I don't enjoy lugging heavy watering cans and hoses around the garden every evening, and also having to spray water on some of the flowering plants in the middle of the day.
Yes, I do enjoy sun, but not quite so intense as it is at the moment. However I know I will be complaining of the dull dreary days of winter when it rains almost every day - some people are never happy with the weather are they!!
I have found a website that suggests that the average temperature in the Vendée is 20C in June and 7C in January.
Got that wrong this year. 43C today in full sun and 32C in the shade. Fine as long as I don't have to work in it so, like Papi Jo, I don't do any gardening till 6pm or so and then it's just watering and the doggies are getting walked at 9pm.
I'd much rather be warm than cold so it's all fine by me but OH is not going to like the water bill when it comes.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Yesterday our gardening U3A visited Myerscough college in Preston. We had an invitation to go around the grounds and botanical greenhouses at this agricultural college for free and what a wonderful place it is. It was quite a way to get there in Lancashire from our place in Cheshire but well worth journey. I would highly recommend this tour if you get the chance?
Wednesday here was unbearable. Thermometer in the shade showing 34 C and high humidity. Thursday cooled somewhat and a bit of a breeze, but temperature in the house still 25 C. Our house is normally great for staying cool in summer and warm in winter. The problem comes once the heat does build up because it then takes time to cool back down.
Cooler still today and with gusty wind. At least I should be able to get out over the next few days and get the garden sorted before we go away on holiday.

I LOVE IT AND LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.
Hostafan1 "I shall be out in my garden after breakfast and won't come back in until about 7 this evening."
The opposite with me : I'm in the garden from 7 or 8 am until about 10 am and then again from 7 or 8 pm. Any temp over 25° C is too hot for me.
And this heatwave makes the lack of rain even worse. We've had far too few rainy days in the past 12 months in my part of Brittany.
Enjoy the sun while it lasts, Hostafan1; I'll patiently wait for the clouds and rain in the meantime.
Papi Jo, trust me, in N. Devon, we rarely have to wait long for rain.
Right, where's my sun cream and lounger?
