Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • I think it's the same all over just varying degrees of horribleness. I have additional problem now one piece of guttering has come adrift a bracket has broken and the top part of a soil pipe is sitting at a drunken angle. Can't get anyone here to even look at it before Monday I tried to go up the other day but it's at the limit of my confidence on a ladder that only just reaches tried to clip the guttering back temporarily it lasted just long enough for me to put the ladder away & it twanged back out image

Hope this wind doesn't pull any more down.

    Windy , raining ☔️ & cold - Lincoln

  • After a dry hour this morning the rain is now solid - has been for most of the day. Not cold but it is blustery out there.  Another day's gardening plans up the spout.  My list is getting longer each wet day that passes by.

Stockton today has bright sunshine, no lights on in the house, must be saving a fortune in electric. High today of 7C, these heat waves are very disconcerting for January, "oh well" make the best of it. image

  • We have bright sun today as well. If you want to bring your sun bed Frank it must be 22C+ in my rear lounge sun streaming in the patio doors. If that's too warm how about +15 in my greenhouse and that is still in part shade. Cheersimage

Lain R tempting offer but my West and part South facing Conservatory has the doors open at the moment it is so warm the South  facing greenhouse would grow Desert thorn bushes or camel thorn as we called it, any one got a Camel. I noticed yesterday some of the owners in an Arabian Camel Beauty contest had been using Botex on the Camels lips, they were disqualified. Mind after a few months out there I can tell you those camels with their soft eye's and long lashes did get quite attractive, pity about the smelly breath.
