It's been a biting wind, with snow flurries and some bright sunny intervals.Minus 1 now, going down to -4 but feeling like -17! I don't remember it being this cold before so late into March.

Logan 4 A Lurcher male and a real German Shepherd Sky female who puts Bailey in his place and makes sure she has the Doggie throne next to mine while they are all here. Now have an empty larder and fridge. Dog biscuits tomorrow for lunch. Snow on and off all day laying on lawns and paves though the road is cleared by cars, most of them on my drive. Next week a flurry of Birthdays and Anniversaries? I think a holiday is called for and let them get on with it. Frank.
scroggin My apologies for the belated response ; just gone back on PC . Yes , my downpipe is like yours now , 1.5 inches diameter . It's lagged now and the open end is shielded by heavy bubble-wrap currently . As my luck would have it , the pipe faces east , and is facing the full brunt of the wind-chill . Be OK after tomorrow , getting milder again . Thankyou for enquiring though !
We had a heavy snow shower earlier which has now all but cleared, but we've a yellow snow warning for tonight and an amber warning for tomorrow. Delivering for Waitrose will be fun as it's only due to go above freezing for about 3 hours mid day.
Last evening (Friday) a few of us were standing around the allotments talking about how beautiful and summery it felt. This morning (Saturday) we did parkrun in a blizzard, and there is currently a glacier forming at the top of the road. The village weather station says it is minus 1.5 but with windchill is minus 6.7. Oddly though, I really enjoyed the run this morning.

I was walking to the car with my colleague yesterday evening and we commented how mild it was so it surely won't snow... blooming freezing today and there is an icing-sugar dusting of snow already, ahead of tonight's snow forecast.
