  • An icy blast even down here on the outskirts of "the smoke" even a few sleety flakes in the air at one point. Even we are threatened with snow tomorrow- we will see. Fine in the sun but bitter in the shade & wind.

Forcast yesterday said 2 things (radio 4 on in car) firstly that we had just had the coldest DECEMBER on record, (it was still November here in the SE) and secondly, that rain would possibly turn to snow even here last night.  it was cold -2 a few miles down the road, but when I met my daughter from work at 2.30, it was sunny, blue sky, biting wind, and hayho, it suddenly starting snowing, those big dry flakes, what happened to tha rain.  Cant even say it was the coldest NOVEMBER on record, a couple of odd frost here, ice on windscreens, like yesterday, but have had to ground frost as yet.  cant say for today, just getting light, looks grey, windy.

Stockton on Tees, fifteen minutes of fame last night as our N.E.Coastal area featured on the news, instead of sand our beaches were white from South Shields to Bridlington. Today we still have snow on the gardens but the road is dark slush. Had I built my PC Snow Persons they would now be sinking wet and bedraggled into the lawn with sagging carrots misplaced. Thought for today "No matter what label we put on ourselves we all sink back to where we came from" leaves the forum singing, "That Stardust melody" what is in a name.

PS, How do you make that PC I ask.

  • Dull miserable start but hey now the sun has come out! trouble is I have to wait in for a parcel so can't really make use of it.

  • Dull, cold wind and really not weather to stand around in. At least it is dry, so we dug small stripe of the new veg patch which is going to be just for ME.  Too cold to do any planting, so spent some time on the telephone catching us with the relatives.

Spotted on BBC Good Food yesterday.  Recipe for Gingerbread "people"!   https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/gingerbread-people

Frosty start again but climbed to 10C in the sun and out of the wind.  Flipping freezing in the wind tho.  Brrrr.

  • We had minus 5.9 on Wednesday night, but it's definitely above freezing now, here in the Pennines.  Very little snow though.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Stockton, The snow is still on the lawns and garden though the road and pavement are now clear, the sun came out yesterday and we had a heat wave of 4C, I did not manage any sunburn. Today dull though warmer 5-to-7C.

I was just reading about someone in America setting out in his steam powered Rocket to prove the world is flat? Do they export what he is on and I do not mean the rocket?
