Yvie and Lito my families have been away 11 years now. I still loathe the "return" day but find changing the beds and preparing the room for the next time helps and I Always Go Out to meet a friend for lunch.
Par it's Friday everyone will be busy busy I am sitting in the dentist waiting room which is why I have time to post!!!

My o/h goes to Slimming world and over the last 15 months and sort of going along with it , I have lost 3 stone & 1lb and reduced waist by 6 inches , I was also dioagnised with Type 2 diabetics which I no long have
I am still careful in what I eat and I still drink alcohol but not as much
I am genuinely amazed but realise it is not for everybody but recommend slimming world
It has cost a fortune in new clothes as I have been the same size for a number of year but I definitely feel better for it
Well done Hosta - I could do to try a bit harder too.
Joyce & Fairy - watched the second episode of The Pilgrims' Way at lunchtime. The Tarbat Centre is now firmly on the list of places I shall be visiting when I am supporting OH (I'll be in camper van with food and other supplies) on his John O'Groats - Lands End bike ride in 2018. Amazing carved stones.
Will be watching The Western Way next although we might have seen that one before. Can't have too much Scottish scenery though
Off to pick beetroot & herbs for tomorrows lunch - will hoick out the lettuces I've allowed to go to seed while I'm there.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Congrats Hosta and GWRS and her OH. Must feel lovely to be lighter on your feet.
My OH has lost weight too since January because now that he's retired he walks the dogs at least an hour a day and often 2 or more as well as playing golf twice a week. All very well but it means I am no longer walking the dogs from Monday to Friday and have got a bit blubbery..... That will change when we move and go walkies together to explore the new area and start tackling the garden.
Exhausting day today - IKEA with Possum, then a TROC and then her new student apartment to hang curtains and organise lights and kitchen drawers then supermarket. Don't like beer or spirits but I shall still enjoy the occasional glass of wine.and will certainly have one or two this evening!

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
I'm rather ashamed to admit I'd have about 10- 12 bottles of red wine and about 30 bottles of bitter a week. I reckon it was 2,000 calories a day , just in booze, + snacking.
All gone.
I'm not even missing it on holiday here.
Gay Pride tomorrow and Amsterdam is filling up with gorgeous men.
All that for our 5th wedding anniversary tomorrow.
You've done brilliantly with the weight - good that you don't miss it either. I think a lot of people don't realise how many calories they consume in liquid form. Since I don't indulge - I can't give it up to lose weight...it'll have to be the biscuits instead....
Leaving early tomorrow to avoid the worst of the weather. It's a busy spot anyway as it's the same parking for the two Munros there. Hopefully not any windier than Glen Lyon was a few weeks ago
Glad you're enjoying those progs T'bird. CM's good at them. I haven't watched the second part of the pilgrim one yet - might try later
Been busy outside organising the new raised bed. Why do the 'simple' jobs always take ten times as long as they should? Rain's now on so I'm glad I got more done. Not looking very promising for anything outdoor on Sunday
Hope your aches and pains have eased a bit Yvie. I hate it when I get out of bed and I'm sore.
DD - all the annoying, ridiculous manipulation will be forgotten once you're free. When you go to bed for the first time in your own little place, you'll thank your lucky stars you did it.
Love to you both xx
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Painted 2 and a half sides of the shed before the paint ran out... can I get the same sort in this town? Of course not. But the new stuff claims to be the same colour, so tomorrow we shall see (if the current rain stops).
Current raspberry jam count is 24lb.
Given away 4lb so far, another 5lb spoken for as gifts for family and neighbours... might sell some for charity, perhaps? I really like raspberry jam. But this year has been ridiculous - and yes, we've eaten raspberries raw every day, and I've made 2 litres of ice cream and some sorbet (and there's no more room in the freezer...)
I've never seen a Fairy who was anything other than sylph-like. Think you're having us on about the biscuits, FG
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Where is everyone today? I thought my internet wasn't working, but now that I've seen Lilyp, I know it's OK.

Hello everybody , losing weight

My occasional helper did 7 hours today
3 feet lopped off some shrubs which must have been on testosterone this year
Intending to have a relaxing weekend with a bit of luck.
Congratulations to all the weight losers
Message to self. . . try harder.
