Morning all/afties Pat. Your pic sums up teenagers nowadays!  image

Dull here but dry so hopefully I'll get something done after work. Weather forecast looking very iffy at the moment Joyce. It's been changing every couple of hours in the last day or two, but ok for tomorrow morning so I might head up to Lochearnhead to do the Corbett next to Ben Vorlich, before the rain gets going. Winds will be strong so I'll need my poles to lean on...  image

My grass may have to wait...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Good morning,

Off to collect new beds for new house today. image Hoping it will feel like I am actually going to escape, so busy here I can hardly get out of the house. OH has agreed to buy me some furniture in return for working through August, so I suppose that is a wage in some form. He won't give me the money though, he has ordered it for me, he is hard to deal with so I just have to take what is offered or I get nothing at all. All very strange but I can't argue with him, he has a way of convincing me it is all for the best and only in my best interests, seems it is only him that thinks like that but soon enough I will be out of his control - and at least I will have a new bed and a sofa. image

Was wet yesterday but nice again now for the week-end, least the garden had a bit of a water.

Hope the wind doesn't blow you away Fairy, can't you work some magic on the weather. image

Pat, technology - way of the world now sadly. image (she says, chatting to someone in Australia) image

Must go, good day all, enjoy Amsterdam Hosta, happy memories from a college trip there years ago, still have a love letter from a Dutch boy I met there. imageimageimage

DD, good to see some progress. It'll happen. I'm happy for you.

i did think the photo was funny - as you pointed out, we're doing it too, even though half the time I'm asleep when you are all up and about and vice versa.image

Oops Fairy you came in behind me there, love Lochearnhead, have a good day.

DD it sounds as if you are well prepared in your head to get away, that is the most important part, the rest will all follow.  Hope Charlie has packed his bits and bobs, will help him too for the transition.

Morning all,  Not a good night.   Too many aches and pains despite dosing myself up.

Lovely sunny morning here.  Have already had a walk round the garden and the grass is covered in dew.  This type of weather always reminds me of new pencils and the smell of newly varnished school halls.

I've cleaned the kitchen windows and done a bit of tidying up but nothing major planned.

Really missing grandaughters, Merri phoned last night to say she is missing us, I wanted to book a flight there and then.  Have been speaking on the phone and facetiming but it's not the same as a cuddle.  I don't think Firstborn will be allowed to go away for a month again. image Don't know how those of you with families living abroad manage, it must be very hard to say goodbye after a visit.  Good job I've got Jonah to cuddle while they are away.

DD glad you and Charlie are OK,  just remember every little step takes you closer to your new life.

LP - I haven't been been able to go to the Flower Show for a few years as it's not possible to get sufficient respite time.  At least the weather has stayed dry for it.

Dew here too and the lawn is full of big fat slugs on their way home for the day's sleep or whatever slugs do.

Mish-mash day here running errands - Possum's apartment to hang curtains and collect a second set of keys.  IKEA for bits of this and that for the apartment.   TROC to pick up a sofa etc etc.  Unfortunately all in different directions so loads of miles to do too.

Then we have loads of pots to move into the watering zone while we're way next week.  OH's favourite job is moving pots............

Hope everyone has good plans for today and the weekend and the weather to enjoy them.   DD - good luck with the furniture collecting and installing.   Keep your "independence day" in mind when things seem difficult and remember we're behind you all the way.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
