'But they said anyone can grow this plant!'

I cannot grow mint.
Despite it's reputation as a plant that will happily take over gardens, nay, the whole World, it just sulks in my garden.
I've tried containers and beds, seeds and plugs, spearmint, gingermint and peppermint - even catmint.
I've come to accept that I will never smugly place a homegrown sprig of mint in a jug of Pimms on a sunny day.
On this occasion, I don't want tips, advice or nowt else but to know that everyone has one that got away...

With me it is parsley.
'You must have some bread with it me duck!'
Just chuck the lot out onto your garden in disgust and forget about it.
Next year you'll be overwhelmed with the stuff

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Grass (plain and fancy).
Evening primrose.
Alchemilla.
Sweet pea... All from seed.
Mint for me too, until this year when I decided to give up on it. Now every single sprig I ever planted has taken off!
They laughed when I said I couldn't grow mint, look who's laughing now.

Honeysuckles proving to be a challenge too.
Sweet peas. Blessed things either won't germinate or they look diseased. I've been trying to grow them for years.
Montbretia. Just disappears.
Chinese lanterns. I blame the gastropod fraternity.
As you say, there's always one plant
That says, 'I'm sorry, but I just can't',
So we return to those that we know are alright,
That grow away strongly whatever the site.
But the urge comes back, and we try once more
Just to prove to all that our skills aren't poor.
How many defeats must we endure
Before finally accepting that there is no cure
For our failing to grow that plant or tree
And realising that it's just not 'mint' to be!

Petunias....they try, they try so hard, but they always look a bit straggly and sorry for themselves.
Freesias - I've given up now as I've had years of disappointment with them.
