Thanks, PP!  Not got a lot more worth looking at really...

Sorry, I don't know who made the horses.  They are indeed fab - so lifelike!  I'm not surprised how expensive they were, given the time and skill involved in making them.  image

Thanks Liri, I enjoyed those pics image didn't see the spheres or parasols though, and didn't get in the floral art marquee. hey ho, two days next time! and no slow coaches in attendan e! In fact Chatsworth all planned, just me and OH (who isn't interested so won't be wanting to dilly dally, he'll be under instruction not to moan, to indulge my oohs and ahhh, carry bags, provide cash, agree with everything, keep at my pace and follow appreciatively - well that's the plan! send him to beer tent is plan b, while I'm in proseccos and champers tent!). can't wait!

Love the horses and the glass agapanthus. Saw a horse like that somewhere, may have been the Eden Project.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I've still got to find that Tatton programme, GWRS.  Not sure about faffy sheds - mine's just for Stuff, really (see Gallery of Shame thread!).  image

Love your ideas for OH deployment, Mrs G.  I just leave mine at home, I'm afraid - much better to be on my own to mooch.  image

Thanks for appreciative comments.  It's lovely to share the fun!

I have just watched both episodes of this year's Tatton Park.  In the second episode it was mentioned that fomented cabbage is very good for us because it provides us with probiotic bacteria.

Unfortunately, that's not correct.  The hydrochloric acid in our stomacks kills these bacteria.  In controlled scientific tests, the only ones that survived the onslaught of this acid are those found in plain yogurt, made with full fat milk.

Incidentally, even those preparations sold as ptobiotic-rich are useless.

So, if you like sauerkraut, eat it; but if you only eat it because you want probiotics, full fat plain yogurt is your friend.

So how come the acid in our stomach does not kill the bacteria in plain yoghurt?
