Saw todays programme and really liked it. It made very good use of what was a tricky bit of garden.

Watched it for the first time today and enjoyed it!! Any gardening program gets my vote :)

tho i was a little shocked at how they kept saying the "tiny £1000 budget" - I did this for a client for £80 :)

£1000 is a tiny budget if you are getting the pro's in to do the work.  They have up to half a dozen people in on the project and there are wages to pay.  There looks to be more than £80 of plants alone in your border so I'm guessing you didn't make a profit on the job.

Hefty thats lovelly, I think it was the first episode, my OH was just about to put up some fencing, and was not impressed with the way the "experts" were doing theirs, they dont seem to be "big" on ground cover either, before some of the progects. some of the gardens looked quite nice, but I dont even consider £1000 a "budget", better than the "before", but all the grass looked ratty.  As for "safe" water features, with small, kids, back in the 70s, while nursing I met a little boy,who fell in a ditch and drowned in 2 inches of water, it was right outside the Hospital where I worked, there was no ED (Casualty in those days) but he was rushed to the theatre and worked on, they got the poor little mite breathing on his own, but HUGE brain damage, he was deaf, dumb, blind, unable to move,he was 4 at the time of the accident. He just made noises like an animal. Heartbreaking. I wouldnt think any labour costs are included in these sums KT, perhaps the firms do it for the prestige? Quick fix,  have to confess to fast forwarding the whole thing.  I much prefered the Instant Gardening, they were realistic plot and "budgets"

    Instant Gardener!!!!

  • Much as I think Danny is a nice guy. The Instant Gardener's results sometimes leave a lot to be desired...

    See original post

Have to agree on that one.  I thought most of results left a lot to be desired. Some actually looked worse to me when he'd finished.

Was I seeing things or was the wood behind one garden winter, then spring, then winter, then spring? Kept seeing bare trees and then green trees, confused image
