Hi, newbie here,  image   Found this thread after watching today's episode and being a bit shocked about the design including three stags horn sumach trees planted straight into the ground...eek, won't they send up runners? If so that's asking for trouble, what with all that hard landscaping. Also thought those water lillies wouldn't be happy with the moving water. image

Are people watching Love Your Garden on ITV3? It's new episodes & much better than Garden Rescue. Well thought out, complete gardens.

Omg I seriously cannot believe there was a comment on Charlie's size/appearance.  This is a garden rescue show...surely that should be the topic of conversation.   Whilst all designs are not you my taste I like that more than one design is provided to choose from...and as previously stated based on a variation of budgets.  I drastically need to improve my garden for next to nothing.  It's good to see their designs.  Problems that arise how they overcome them etc.  Good ideas ?

I have recorded Garden rescue and only get watching in 10 minute snippets due to OH not being enamoured , however I think there are some brilliant ideas , my daughter and I are going to copy the stones in the mesh idea as garden boundaries between us , great for rockery plants we hope

    Hi Chloe

Same here. I can not understand why they do not complete the work so that I looks a finished job. Last nights programme,  as you say , showed that the lawn to the right side of the bridge had been trample down by the workmen and just need replacing to bring the project altogether. Also the breeze block wall finish was very poor and to reduce in to angles mean't it lost its height and was no longer a barrier to the entertainment area.

Also, when the client leant on the new table it wobbled because it  was not fixed securely to the leg supports

You would think that they would do a final snagging check before presenting the finished ( unfinished) work

One positive was the planting regime in last nights programme, which I though complimented the design

I also thought the planting was good in the SA style garden except for the pond edges. They looked to be just soil up to the water which will quickly disappear leaving bare liner. Loved the paving slabs cit to strange angles and the red wall funnily enough. The bit of lawn to the RHS I think was just showing the wear from traffic but would have cost about £50 to lay new turf. And I would not have been happy about the drain cover left as it was. I would have swapped one of the trees for a recessed cover. One of the better designs though.
