    Good morning all  :)

Found this lovely bumblebee warming up on a clematis flower. Any one can identify it?

    Thanks

This is what happens when you sit under the pergola for a while, then come indoors to noodle on the forum ... you find someone crawling down the back of your neck ... 😆

He just wouldn’t stay still to have his picture taken 🤣

Yes ... it's our second this afternoon ... we get lots here ... the first was a Southern Green, but I can't find one, or an instar, that looks like the one I photographed on my hand ...

Try the hawthorn shieldbug (and try to ignore the terrible latin name). https://www.britishbugs.org.uk/heteroptera/Acanthosomatidae/a_haemorrhoidale.html
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

That's the one @wild edges  ... obviously keen on honeysuckle and clematis as well as hawthorn  :D  Very lively ... when I took him back outside he hopped onto the grapevine so I hope he's happy there.
