Ever tried photographing bats? Small, fast moving and nearly dark so not the easiest of subjects.
I looked into that a while back and it can get very technical (and expensive) with ultrasonically triggered flashes and shutters etc.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Very cool. Are they slow worms?

Cat on a hot tiled roof. I have seen it up there before, there is clearly something of interest up there.

Maybe bats under the tiles? The cat was very focused on that small gap.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Some while ago I tried to capture swallows flying around a cathedral at dusk. I stood there for hours with a tiny 'point and shoot' the size of my palm.

Those toads are amazingly well camouflaged. I used to find almost black toads hiding in bags of compost that I’d left partly open.
