I tried photographing bats with flash on a wet night some years ago. Ended up a bit more Halloween impressionist than natural portrait. Practically X-rayed the poor things.
Some while ago I tried to capture swallows flying around a cathedral at dusk. I stood there for hours with a tiny 'point and shoot' the size of my palm.
I'm enjoying all the bat photos. We get them here regularly. Virtually impossible to get them unless you can sit outside for hours on end. Or is that just me? The juvie robin here has been enjoying all sorts of activities, but the 'resident' one is always ready for a 'square go'. [@steephill will know what that means ] He/she had time for a wee rest though Mickey and his chums were a bit peeved about my renovations to the fence and the supports which gave them cover for their meals, but they soon made themselves at home again
'Dave' preening himself and surveying his estate
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
