When we were in Norfolk in June we also visited a lovely private garden with a pretty manor house surrounded by a moat. It was open for the NGS.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Very pretty, Lizzie.  Thanks for sharing.  image

I love the idea of a "window" from one part of the garden to another.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Have somehow only just found this thread! I'm a little slow ? I have really enjoyed looking at everyone's garden pics. Chicky, I think I'm not far from you, I'm only a few miles from frensham but haven't had a chance to get to any open gardens this year although like you I did manage to get to Hampton court on same day as you! (5th) fab weather day wasn't it? Went to wisley a couple of Saturdays ago - love to have cake and coffee early and then a wander round before lunchtime.  Must get the NGS brochure out and try and plan a visit - can't believe it's August already! ?

Thank you Yvie, I haven't been to either of them. Lovely wild flower areas. The fairies at Trentham are beautiful, was it Fidget who posted them before?

    Nice pic of me Yvie....image

Gorgeous photos from everyone - haven't looked at this thread for a while.

I'd like that Lutyens bench with the arbour transported here - can that be arranged pretty please? image

Love the water lily pic too. Those are my favourites, but so many to choose from. Sheer quality. The houses are so stunning as well.

Love a bit of formality in the  garden image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's a lovely thread to look at on a day like today, when the drizzle is obscuring the hills yet again!  Beautiful wildflower meadow, Yvie!

The lady who designed the stumpery at the Tatton Park show almost persuaded me to have a go... just with one stump and some ferns.  Not quite convinced though.

I think you could do with a hairband, Fairy...  image
