Did I ever post Peter Beales Classic Roses anywhere? Free entry, we went just to see the garden, then we went with friends for the Rose Festival, then I went to meet Dove and Topbird.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Beautiful roses, BL - love that arbour completely covered with the white rambler.  image  (We need an "appreciatively sniffing" smiley!)

I aim to get to Norfolk one day with OH and visit Bressingham.  The train will keep him happy, and I can admire the garden...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I think that was "Rambling Rector", Dove or Topbird might know - I have another photo of them sitting on the bench.

Two trains at Bressingham and a steam museum!

Beautiful gardens everyone. That NGS lady mustn't sleep image!

Thanks for trying to gather them all up BL. They do tend to get lost and the search facility is a bit below par at the moment (or words to that effect image).

There is another Thread called Garden Visits, where I posted piccies of Sissinghurst, Gt Dixter and Scotney Castle but I don't know how to make a link in order to include them on this thread.

Here are some photos taken on a recent trip to Hidcote and Kiftsgate.  Hidcote first.

Yviestevie, Chicky and I both posted that link with the gardens you visited on page 1 here.

I love Hidcote and Kiftsgate, but I just prefer Hidcote. My SIL used to live near there.

    Lovely roses Lizzieimage

Loved Hidcote and Kiftsgate - but K definitely my favourite - sort of frothy, whereas Hidcote is more controlled.  Your Hidcote waterlily pond picture is greatimage

So many great gardens .....I want to visit them all in June/July.  Might take a few yearsimage

We are going around the Norfolk gardens, on and off, when we are there, this year. We went to Somerleyton Hall in June, interesting house, lovely white garden that they use for weddings, but on the whole I was a bit disappointed, not really a gardener's garden, more a park. The leaflet they gave out said various bits were due to be re-planted in 2015 but they obviously hadn't been.
