  • Thanks @Obelixx. You should go for it. I can be quite lazy about using moisturisers and lotions when shop bought, they sit there for months, even years and feel cold and icky. But with my own made stuff you really enjoy using it, appreciate all the scents. And also I’m just making a couple of small tubs at a time and I’m using it up in weeks because I don’t want to waste my ingredients lol. I made lip balms too so will be perfect for winter. I love it, I think every gardener should make their own, give those calloused hands, feet, legs, arms a treat every night or two. All 💯 natural and organic. It’s a step up from making mud pies and then trying to make my own rose petal water when I was a child 😊

I would love to grow calendula - so good for so many things - but the slugs snaffle them all.
  • Maybe try them in pots @Fire. They are called pot marigolds after all. Also they make the most golden infused oil. Maybe good for dying too. I have to say I have loads of slugs but they don’t go after the calendula. Ive got lots though so don’t mind if some of them get pest attacked.
  • My daughter makes Calendula balm,it so good for so many things, from her dry skin patches to her dogs cracked paws, and for soothing chapped hands, the list is endless.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

Interesting info, ladies.  I’m not sure I could be bothered to try, but anything is possible with our lockdowns. I’ve lots of calendula flowering at the mo.
