@februarysgirl - I have a website which sits in a corner of the internet with tumbleweed blowing past it. I am always amazed when I sell something from there! I do much better face to face at craft fairs. I was thinking of opening an Etsy shop, but as you say, there is sooooo much jewellery on there. A friend, who decoupages stuff, does brilliantly on Etsy. @poppyfield64 - that is amazing! We have a ninja crocheter in our market town who has made a crochet cover with crochet flowers on it which fits on top the main pillarbox in town!
Love the pebbles Valley Gardener. That crochet cover is stunning poppy field. I used to crochet a lot of baby blankets and shawls and such, just bought some lovely blue/green yarn with tiny sequins in, but still searching for the perfect pattern! I kind of got sidetracked with mini embroidery recently, l must take some photos to share.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.
Thank you @Pat E knitting scares me a bit but I did try for the first time and made a pair of socks which turned out perfect. I do like the nicer finish to knitting but like speed of crochet to make things quickly.
@Valley Gardener thanks you should give it a go. Video are so useful but it took me over a year to learn how to read a pattern. So do you sell your pebbles at all?
@Dahliadelights that's the bit I hate the most too so try to find colour changing yarn so you just keep going. I don't like joining squares either so have a few that I need to fisnish.
@didyw that's a brillaint idea. We had some it town that were decorating lampposts and really cheered everything up. I've never sold anything and tend to give as gifts or auction them for charity. I don't think when you add up your time and yarn no one would ever pay that price.
@Jacquimcmahon yarn mountains.....I have many in the house and then can't think what to make with it. I need somthing to really catch my eye. I have seen a bee themed shawl that looks really pretty.
This is one I did for a friends new baby for in her nursery. Turned out really pretty in the end.
Everything looks really good and colourful. I must get myself going again now that the weather is cooling a bit. I don’t tend to knit in summer. It gets too hot here.
Must admit I have never "got" crochet. I find it hard enough having the patience to make something with two needles so, whilst I can admire the skill and techniques, trying to make something with just one is beyond me. The only success I've had with a crochet hook is for streaking my hair thru a plastic cap in the 80s!
However, some of my friends at the patch and sewing club are very keen and have embarked on a project of crochet figurines such as this and other critters. The one who started them off has done a whole family of caterpillars, mice, a llama and a giraffe this spring.
Clearly not gardeners then.
