Well done Yvie. I can't get on with crochet at all, nit even to make squares.
We've moved on to "quilt as you go" in machine patch. Wonderful stuff, but it'll be a long time before I have enough to join up and show. Hols and visitors for the next month.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Just caught up on this thread, some lovely things made here, the door wreath, simple but gorgeous you can change the flowers to suit the season. patchwork is lovely, very good interpretation of the moon. granny square blanket is very nice, I love those projects that use up all the spare bits.
crochet lamb is excellent, no one would know you are just a beginner. I'm crocheting a coat for step daughters baby girl due in July, I love knitting and crocheting in fine wools/yarns.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Went to an exhibition of patchwork on Wednesday - held annually at Nantes.
They’ve
loaded backwards so, from end to start, there’s the initial exhibit of a simple
quilt in a boat as you enter. Really liked this one and fairly simple to
do for my level of expertise.
Then the modern stuff, much done
by machine and/or machine quilted. Then some antiques all using
variations of log cabin which is a basic block but here they’ve played with it
to great effect. Some are form the 19th century and all done
by hand!! Then some classic ones and more modern ones done by Oz and
Japanese ladies and a Brit and there was a lady from the USA who believe the
back of a quilt should be beautiful too so does double sided quilts………
The ones with the corner turned up so you can see.
All in all some interesting stuff and some horrors too.
