Lol Laura! Who knows... my great grandmother was ‘a bit of a one’ apparently! I have one day a week when the kids are at after school club, which gives me about 6 hours, so if I want to paint I can, but don’t often. I am so lucky as my mother-in- law was an artist and gave me a box of acrylics to decorate my daughters dolls house. I never got round to it so found the box and had a lightbulb moment..I would definitely advocate giving painting a go.. it incredibly absorbing, hours can go by unnoticed!
  • I tried painting.  I'm incredibly bad at it.   Really bad.

Do you remember the film Mermaids?  Cher has been sitting as Cleopatra for Bob Hoskins for weeks and we finally get to see the painting.   Well, mine is worse than that!   :D

On Mondays I go to a meeting of ladies who do "art" with needles.   I go to learn patchwork techniques but once a month we have a full day with a project, materials provided.   This is yesterday's.   I was not thrilled but OH loves it.

Looks a bit pale and wan to me so I might give him a spot of rouge on his cheeks.

All stitched by hand Joyce - lots of chat was the only saving grace - and I was wearing black trousers.  Imagine my joy as I cut out the facial hair!

Hand hemming of Xmas patchwork finally finished last night - an exercise in half-square triangles.
