That’s lovely Ergates.  Great thought to do it.

That is so beautifully done,I expect it will be well photographed.I wonder if the head inside is polystyrene,it doesn't look "stuffed" does it? Very clever.

Very impressive! It looks like a repurposed head from a shop display dummy. Does anyone know what the purple poppy represents (other than maybe someone didn't have red wool)?

The purple poppy is for animals that served and died. 🙂

  • I crochet both colours, the purple poppies are becoming more popular to wear. I always wear both together.

I think the first time I saw a purple poppy was on the Animals In War Memorial.

  • There's also the white poppy, the international symbol of remembrance of all who've died in wars, armed forces and civilians alike - together with the hope of peace in the future.

My father's uncle died in WW1, and my mother's eldest brother in WW2.  I like to wear both red and white poppies for remembrance.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • You never cease to bring a smile on Valley Gardener, they would lovely Xmas presents and I am stuck for my 8 year old Granddaughter as she is the creative one .
