Thanks ladybird...I think the bitter cress name will stick with me as I have lots of it to weed out. Grr!

  • Agree with nutcutlet that the traily weed is a kind of veronica. Ivy leaved toadflax is different. I have both to weed out! Confirm the photo of your poached egg plant. You'll never be without it as it also selfs seeds quite prolifically. I use as a green manure on the veg patch, and leave some to flower around the edges, hover flies love 'em. Easy to pull out if you get too many.

Ivy leaved speedwell.  One of my permanent 'friends' that doesn't know when it's time to go home! image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Hope you don't mind but here are a few more I have no idea what they are. I think the large rounded leaves may be grannys bonnet?imageimageimageimage  the last two  are growing next to a pieris forest flame. It's the only place where they have grown and I'm not sure if they are something I have planted...In a uniform arc. Thanks

    1) Geum urbanum (wood avens) - another weed you don't want to let seed.

    2) Tree seedling, probably birch.

3 & 4) Possibly one of the nightshades if not something you have sown.

Then I haven't a clue as to what those broad leaved are. The stalks are very hairy on those. Thanks B3
