I finally got my beans in today.image Its not the planting, its barrowing four barrows full of FYM, putting in 40 bamboo sticks,  add FBB, fork, tie canes together so they don't go over, plant, tie the long shoots to the canes, water in well, make sure the leaky hosepipe is in position. They can cope with the shade from the oak, just not the  abstraction of tons of water a day from the veg bed by the oak.

Other than that , all I have done today is watch the tennis and feed  hubby.  Murray lost after a good first set.image

  • Ooooh, forgot about Mr Murray-meant to watch that whilst doing the ironing-hubby had other plans !!! Did he put up a good show?

Oh Linda what a shock for you. A friend of mine has the same condition and is absolutely fine now.

One of the "turns" she had happened when she was cycling to work through the Botanic Gardens! Off she went into the bushes only to be rescued by about 15 hysterical Chinese students.

The first time we went to visit her we laughed till we cried and the ward manager got vewy vewy cwoss!!!! image I think it was a combination of shock and relief. The first message we got was that she'd had a heart attack!! Of course she egged it with stories of legs sticking out of the rhododendrons.... Humour was her way of coping, maybe blase is your husband's.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring good news and relief from your worries.

Try to get a decent night's sleep...easier said than done I know....

I believe the crowd were slightly 'partisan ' Linda. I couldn't bear to watch it. Was hoping for a repeat of the Rome tournament but it wasn't to be. image

I'm off to my bed too. work tomorrow. Could do with a break to get on outdoors.

Sleep well if you can Linda  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Murray won the toss. He served first . Lost the first game, then broke back, and won the first set. Then it went downhill. His body language made him look very dejected, and tired compared to Djokovic.  Inevitable end , lost three sets to one.

  • Hello Runny-thanks, yes he does feel shattered, and a bit scared, so it is good to know that that others are out there and are dealing with it. Hopefully he will have his meds sorted out soon. There is a good bunch of people to talk to here isn't there ?

Oh Linda how scary! I hope he's not causing too much trouble for the nurses tonight. Keep yourself safe.

Sweet dreams all; yesterday's long day is showing! image

  • Oh PP, you have made me laugh!! Made me feel much better. I will let you all know how we get on, but thank you all for listening-it is good to know that others have been through this and come out the other side. Clary-he will keep the nurses on their toes, believe me!!!xxx

Linda, what a shock for you, but at least he's being cared for now and hopefully you can get a good night's sleep and he'll soon be on the mend.

So strange that Scotland has had such good weather and here in SW France it's been so cool and wet. Some parts of France have had bad flooding. I went for a wander round the garden this evening and so many roses are soggy and brown. The slugs and snails have had a wonderful time.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
