Missed Tues & Wed programmes (will have to catch up on iPlayer).
Watched last nights and it seemed even they were at it with their #least liked plant grumblings
Maybe they've had a sneaky peek at So.........
It was much better than Monday's cleb fest, showed more of the plants and gardens. Enjoyed the interview with Judith? The lady who did the modern slavery garden.
Still don't like the cube all those people queuing up to peer in the holes one at a time, all those plants cooking in a giant oven.
I much prefer Monty at longmeadow rather than Chelsea. This year to many presenters talking about the same gardens and growers.Surely there is alot more to discuss
My favourite show garden was The L’Occitane Garden so in the Peoples Choice I voted for this one. Did you know you could vote three times? Second fav was St John's Hospice - A Modern Apothecary so I voted twice for the first and once for the second. Is this how we were supposed to vote? Seemed to work,
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
I watched the afternoon programme and there was a feature about Barnsgate Plants or Barnsgate Garden, can't remember the title. Anyway it was Geoff Hamilton's son who has continued Geoff's work and has exhibited at Chelsea this year, 20 years after Geoff's death. It was really lovely; brought tears to my eyes. Watch it on iplayer if you can. He got a gold.

I liked the L'Occitane garden, but as a set piece. I'd not like it outside my back door.
I also love the sunken lawn / clipped box garden. Stunning in execution, but again, I think I'd tire of it " at home" . All those clippings ending up in the rill????
Well, I honestly hadn't noticed what the presenters were wearing... I've been watching to see the gardens & flowers. Ah well...
I've just paid my first visit to Chelsea, at 63. Saved up for ticket, train and cheap accommodation (I live in the north) and managed to get to the showground 20 mins before opening time (which is 8am). For anyone intending to go another year I can really recommend getting there for the start; I saw all the show gardens at my leisure, with plenty of opportunity to view them from different sides, as well as being able to ask questions about plants etc. The show became fairly full by about 10am, and impossible for somebody as short as I am by mid afternoon, by which time I was making my way round the Pavilion.
Yes, you get a great view on TV (sometimes from above, or of bits you can't get to as a member of the public), but nothing compares with the experience I had on Wednesday - scents, sounds and sights to satisfy and inspire.
Re the TV coverage: I think they try to walk a tightrope between coverage of the event for gardeners like us, and covering it as a "spectacle" for the general public - hence so many celeb interviews of varying interest and relevance. Incidentally, I've been really surprised by Toby Buckland, who made little impression on me when he took over Gardener's World. His descriptions of the gardens have been thoughtful, relevant, and at times quite poetic...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

This is the best coverage I have seen:

Sean's videos are always interesting.
