HaHa Lantana. Many years ago on holiday my sister-in-law and myself started to watch a film...fell asleep. Next evening....same thing. Next evening.... started where we left off in the hope of getting further on....fell asleep.
To this day I have never seen the end of some Jude Law film or other.
Bored , bored , bored ,and did I say I'm bored with the endless chatting to Z listers and I started watching yesterday afternoon when I stopped for lunch. Repeat of Exmoor film which I thought dull first time round.
Telly off and cuppa in the garden.
They seem to think we'd rather hear folk talking about their " inspiration" and opinions ,but I'm sure most of just want to see the gardens and floral marquee displays.
I've seen none of the smaller gardens yet.
We started watching last night and got so bored , I'm afraid to admit, we turned over and watch BGT.
I dont know a lot about gardening but enjoy pottering around. I have just had my garden landscaped , bread and jam for dinner for the forseeable future. Set Chelsea to record hoping for inspiration. However a few programmes in so many things are repeated. Gardens are shown but the presenters say things like lush planting but to a novice like me i dont know what the plants are. Please tell us so i can research and try to see if they will fit in my garden. I know it wont look like Chelsea but why say it will inspire people but not give more details. Please more gardening programmes for those who only know a bit but want to improve .
I accept that Chelsea is a show and that it requires instant impact. While we can appreciate certain plant combinations some are not transferable with plants being forced or held back in cold storage. I agree with Hosta re seeing gardens and plants. A bit of inspirational background is fine but too much time is being spent on it.
What a grumpy lot (most of) you are. I think we're very lucky to be able to watch the most famous flower show in the world from the comfort of our own armchairs at a sensible time of day. After all - nobody forces you to watch - you could be outside weeding if you preferred
I absolutely agree. Why start such a negative thread when there is soooo much positivity about Chelsea?!
I agree with the views expressed elsewhere that the show gardens are theatre and no real garden could be exactly like these but what I love about seeing these gardens is the way things look with each other, both the hard landscaping and the plantings. There are some very creative people creating these gardens and working behind the scenes, and so much talent and knowledge and a lot of emotional output.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

Just caught up with yesterdays Chelsea.
Absolutely loved the gardens from: Andy Sturgeon, Cleve West, and Chris Beardshaw.

I could NEVER be that bored.
kt53, I shocked myself, but that's how dull and repetitive I found it.
