Love it! Loving the block, loving the planting but I'd still like door so that I could get in. No doubt that defeats the purpose of the whole concept but I still love it. The planting is lush in every sense of the word!
Joyce, "J", I had no trouble hip swinging having danced since being 10 years old, the old fashioned type with Saunters and all, learning Latin at Cochran's school with Ruby the Carmen Miranda of the North of England swinging hips were the order of the day. In this whimsical world a 6 foot blonde Englishman landed among average 5 foot 9 inch red headed Scots. Tank Regiments tend to be shorter for obvious reasons, on Parade I stood out so they made me right marker? The trews were smart I kept them for years and as we had no civvies went everywhere in uniform at that time including the dance halls where Latin was all the rage you can guess the rest, luckily I had also boxed since I was ten. The excuse was a lame one, unable to sway a kilt they were jealous of my lovely legs was my excuse.
The Cube I nearly fell off my chair at that one and on top of that it needed shading and extra water??
Not managed to stay awake through a whole one yet. Diarmuid Gavin should have called his the "Harry Potter" garden and not revealed he was the designer. That would have resulted in a massive hit.. Following the same train of thought, the addition of a "Whomping willow" to swat unsuspecting slebs would have been a more than welcome touch.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

It was tricky. Do you vote for the garden you'd most like to have transported outside your own back door, or the garden you feel is the most wonderful , there, at Chelsea?
I loved Cleve's garden, but decided he's not going to be short of votes, so went for Paul Martin's.
Joyce you're so right. I noticed that everyone comes on and nyit nyit nyits about the things that irritate them (Joe Swift and the dodgy sound quality) but can't help seeing something that they really like. I think it's been great.
I agree Hosta. I am torn between something I would like, or something that I think is the best design and planting.
Overall, like you, I have really enjoyed the show gardens.
Sarah Eberle has also impressed me, now having won a gold medal, in every category. This year winning for an indoor display, and best garden, in the artisan category.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Frank.
Granite block, represents nature ready to re-colonise the world, after a nuclear holocaust. I think it is very clever, but maybe I am pretentious.
I also love the symbolism in the modern slavery garden.
Cleve West, for the peoples award.

Haha...interesting thought!
The RHS should read this thread which has positive as well as negative comments.
Punkdoc.
There were some real corkers this year.
